(Ashland Village Opens with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony)

October 3, 2016 —Ashland Village in Ashland, Ohio involves the $6.2 million rehabilitation of 45 units of family housing. Wallick-Hendy Development Company, partners, and residents celebrated the grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 3, 2016.

Ashland Village consist of 32 two-bedroom townhomes, 3-two-bedroom townhome disabled units, 5 three-bedroom townhomes, and 5-four-bedroom townhomes. Project amenities include on-site management, community room with kitchenette, half basketball court, laundry facilities, playground, computer center, meeting room, security cameras, outdoor patio with grill, and supportive services office.

Each homes includes a range and refrigerator, central air-conditioning, window coverings, microwave oven, washer/dryer hookups, ceiling fans, dishwasher, and patio/balcony.  An on-site service coordinator will provide case management support for the residents.

Ashland Village was developed using a combination of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and a flex loan administered through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA), a construction loan through FirstMerit Bank, and funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Equity investment was provided by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.
