Groundbreaking Held for New Senior Housing Campus in Logan County, Ohio

(Green Hills Apartments is the rehabilitation of 76 units of senior housing developed by Episcopal Retirement Homes Affordable Living, LLC and West Liberty Homes, Inc.)

September 26, 2014 – An investment of $9.6 million will help renovate 76 units of affordable senior housing on the Green Hill's campus, part of the Green Hills Community which offers housing and care services for seniors in West Liberty, Ohio. Green Hills Apartments offers 19 single-story residential buildings—Phase I of Green Hills Apartments consists of nine buildings (36 units), and Phase II consists of the remaining ten buildings (40 units).

The campus also includes a nursing center, child care center, adult day-care services, a chapel, other independent living apartments, memory care center, and a large community center with library, bakery, sunroom, and fitness center. Residents of Green Hills Apartments will have access to these facilities on the campus.

The renovated project will feature on-site management, a community room, library, walking paths, game room, and community patio. Units will include new appliances, garbage disposals, window blinds, central air conditioning, carpet, porches, and washer/dryers. Select units will also contain e-call buttons and ceiling fans. Episcopal Retirement Homes, Inc. will provide supportive services to the residents.

Green Hills Apartments was developed using a combination of low-income housing tax credits, HDAP, and a Housing Development Loan administered through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, a construction/permanent loan through Huntington National Bank, and a USDA 538 takeout permanent loan through Lancaster Pollard. Equity investment was provided by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.
